Abstract
In this paper, a H.263 hardware system design which is based on the Texas Instruments Company´s single chip multiprocessor devices TMS320C80 is introduced. Some key methods and techniques in software programming of the C80 are proposed. In this way we have implemented the encoder and decoder of H.263 in real time with a single chip C80
