Abstract
This paper describes a novel form of synchronous-asynchronous variable speed constant frequency (SAVSCF) generator system and its control patterns. A special machine structure with two rotors is used in this generator. Many experiments including steady state and transient tests have been done in a prototype generator system. The results show that the principal of this novel generator system is sound, the technology is available, and the energy transform unit is very simple and easy to control. The SAVSCF technology is suitable for hydropower and windpower generator system.
