Abstract
The utilisation of spatial division multiple access (SDMA) techniques to increase system capacity has been considered for GSM and DECT systems. The multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm for DOA estimation and a classical beamforming technique (general data independent response design beamforming) to select the weights of the array elements have been used. Outdoor scenarios have been simulated showing in both cases promising results for increasing system capacity
