Abstract
This article describes a new mathematical model of the vergence and accommodation systems developed using recent neurobiological data. The model can simulate the main dynamic properties of vergence and accommodation for closed and open-loop conditions. The close relationship between the model structural elements and brainstem neural networks makes it suitable for clinical applications and the neuromorphic control of cameras in artificial vision systems
