Abstract
We propose the computation of the recurrence times of unstable periodic orbits for pattern detection in biosignals. This approach can be applied to all time series which are part of a dynamic system with a few degrees of freedom. No template has to be given. As an example we show extraction of breathing patterns out of the thoracic impedance signal of a preterm infant during periodic breathing
