Abstract
Low-noise amplifier performance in the input match condition is analyzed, and a general curve family well suited to expressing a combined noise-VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) performance is obtained. Such a general family can be given a specific significance for a given active device by associating each curve with the corresponding maximum power gain. This provision leads in turn to a straightforward numerical criterion for performance comparison of different low-noise transistors
