Abstract :
A new control algorithm for active suspension design is proposed. In this study, ride comfort is given more attention in the design procedure. It is suggested that the trajectory of the sprung mass should sustain as smooth as possible for the reason of ride comfort. Thus the controller is designed for this purpose. Fuzzy control concept is employed to deal with such problem based on heuristic reasoning of human intuition by means of qualitative linguistic expressions. Some considerations of selecting fuzzy variables and rules are suggested. Computer simulation is performed to verify the above concept and the fuzzy rules. It is shown that satisfactory performances have been achieved by using such control scheme
