Abstract
One of the major challenges facing agriculture in this decade is to develop sustainable farming which minimizes the threat to the environment without sacrificing crop productivity. Sustainable farming is multi-faceted involving specific strategies that taken into account are soil characteristics, topography, climate, local availability of farm inputs, and grower´s goals. A GIS based agroecosystem modeling approach provides the capability to describe the better understanding of the interactions among the various components of sustainable farming whereas modeling crop productivity have been dealt with its findings in this paper l
