Abstract
We firstly give the definition of the sliced instantaneous higher-order moments (S-IHOM) and address the use of the S-IHOM to represent non-stationary signals, substituted for the use of the instantaneous correlation function (ICK). Then we investigate the application of the S-IHOM in the selection and estimation of FH signals. The approach is based on the phase information of the S-IHOM. Results show the S-IHOM of FH signals is less sensitive to noise than the IFC of KH signals. The proposed scheme is robust to additive white noise degradations for SNR levels of 0 dB and above.
