Abstract
HF radio is becoming an increasingly important element in multimedia networks that incorporate landline, VHF, and UHF. MIL-STD-188-141B defines a third generation HF system with the aim of providing faster link establishment and higher message throughputs under a variety of channel conditions. This paper evaluates the performance of 3G-HF application system through two simulation scenarios. An Email system is adopted to analyze end-to-end delay and a reticulate network system is used to analyze the link establishment delay and the failure reason of link establishment
