Abstract :
The analysis of harmonic generation and amplification within an industrial electrical distribution system is an effective tool for improving the reliability of plant operation. Harmonic field measurements can confirm analytical results and can also serve as a basis for the harmonic generator model in conducting the simulations. The authors present a harmonic analysis for a steel-making shop. They give special attention to measurement techniques which use affordable microprocessor-based monitoring equipment. They show how field measurements and computer simulations combined for an effective engineering analysis.<>
