Status of the retrieval of bio- and geo-physical parameters from SAR data for land applications

On 21-23 October 1998, the 2nd international workshop on the retrieval of bio- and geo-physical parameters from SAR data for land applications took place at ESTEC, Noordwijk, the Netherlands. More than 130 participants attended the workshop and 81 papers were presented either in oral and poster presentations. The topics discussed dealt with land-use, classification, agriculture, forestry, soil moisture and roughness, hydrology, snow, topography and interferometry. The results of a questionnaire advertised on the Web one week before the start of the workshop are presented and the main findings are reported as well as the highlights of the workshop
