Abstract
A design scheme of the intelligent sensor for measuring level and temperature of water-wells is proposed for the monitoring of movements of the Earth´s crust and hence the forecasting of earthquakes. The sensor network system is designed as a total solution. The hardware and software of the sensor and data concentrator are described. The hardware scheme of the sensor is based on the silicon pressure sensor, RTD sensor, MCU and fieldbus. The sensor fieldbus protocol is also introduced. The intelligent sensor has been implemented in laboratory and proved to be feasible by experiments.
