Abstract
The very short range detection devices are the basic elements of Homeland protection and Homeland security systems. The Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) are widely used to protect critical area and for border surveillance, in open area perimeters. FOliage PENetrating (FOPEN) radar are needed when the areas or the borders to control are located inside the forest or jungle, in both northern borders or equatorial locations. In this paper a Ground Moving Target (GMT) radar, working at UHF frequencies, battery operated, is presented together with the requirements and the performances obtained.
