Abstract :
In this paper, through further study on the data structure of CATIA system , the product design philosophy and the relevant application module, based on further study on the die design process and concrete working content, utilize the developing tool CAA in CATIA and VC software and establishes the comprehensive 3D standard P-Lib for die CAD. The function and operating method of standard P-Lib is illustrated by the design case of die CAD for automobile crossbeam. Through the analysis of the developing method of 3D standard P-Lib, combining the concrete request, take as many standard parts as possible into the standard P-Lib. The construing process of the standard P-Lib is to analyze different standard part in this system to decide which kind of modeling method is to be adopted, as to different method, use different step to achieve. As to those parts with complex assembling relation and those which can´t be represented by parameters, use directly modeling method. The results have important reference value to CAD/CAM/CAE in the die of manufacturing industry especially automobile, aviation, shipbuilding.
