Abstract :
This paper presents a comparative analysis of the statistical properties of the Doppler spectrum from recently collected coherent monostatic and bistatic sea clutter data. The amplitude distributions within individual Doppler bins from both monostatic bistatic datasets are compared to the K-distribution and the variation of the statistics as a function of Doppler is presented. The analysis shows that even at modest bistatic angles the Power Spectral Density is comparable between the monostatic and bistatic data but the bistatic shows on average a less spiky distribution.
