Abstract :
Many universities require instructors to provide students with a written statement of course requirements. Many instructors respond with a bare minimum of information, offering explanations such as wanting “flexibility”. Here, the author describes how the use of a comprehensive first-day handout (CFDH) in engineering courses is of benefit, and how a CFDH helps both student and instructor to work efficiently during the semester
