Abstract :
The protective textiles market is growing due to increasingly rigorous requirements for human safety, rising liability concerns and the need for higher levels of clothing performance. This study provides comprehensive analysis of fibres, materials and manufacturing methods used to make protective textiles for use in ballistic protection and safety applications. It provides details about natural and synthetic fibres used for making of ballistic armour, vests and other similar materials. The study not only gives an emphasis on the ballistic protection at military level but it also illustrates its use for civilians.
