Abstract :
This paper proposes an augmented Wiener predistorter to improve the pre-compensation performance of the conventional Wiener predistorter for aning the out-of-band emission of the wideband transmitter. A transmitter prototype, which is based on an Electronic Signal Generator (ESG: Agilent E4438C) and an L-band 60-Watt GaAs FET push-pull amplifier, is utilized to evaluate the performance of the new proposed augmented Wiener predistorter. The validation results by applying a two-carrier WCDMA signal to the transmitter prototype demonstrate the effectiveness of this new predistorter for suppressing the spectrum regrowth caused by the memory effects of the transmitter.
