Abstract
Typical calibration system of ASAP (Working Group for the Standardization of Application Systems) architecture is strong coupled where calibrating software is integrated with functional software of ECU (Electronic Control Unit), and it is inconvenient for compatibility and interchangeability of calibration tool and ECU. A solution of weak coupled calibration system architecture is presented to the problem. In this architecture, the ECU is separated to two parts including simplex ECU and special calibration device. The calibration device is set between calibration host and ECU, which connects to host by ASAP 1-a protocol and share calibration data with ECU by a dual-port RAM. ECU performs with parameters of dual-port RAM in calibrating pattern and with one of inner RAM in working pattern. If only the interface of dual-port RAM data is proper defined and consistent, developing and upgrade of calibration system and ECU is isolated, and integration of calibration device and ECU from different manufacturer to construct calibration system is more convenient and efficient. Further more, legacy calibration system can upgrade to the weak coupled architecture easily.
