Abstract :
This paper presents a tunable and wavelength selective receiver structure for data monitoring purposes. The tunability is created by a microelectromechanic engineered membrane chip. The optical-electrical conversion takes place in a second chip. Both chips together from the wavelength selective Fabry-Perot cavity. The realized device features a free-spectral range of 35 nm, and a full-width half-maximum of 0.15 nm. The capability of the fiber-coupled device is demonstrated in a 2 Gbit/s/channel wavelength-division multiplexed system.
