Abstract :
Redundant structures are often used for improving the reliability of electrical systems in aircrafts. In the paper, an electro-mechanical actuator (EMA) with hybrid redundant structure is researched for more-electric aircraft (MEA). This kind of EMA combines electric redundancy and mechanical redundancy. It has two dual-winding brushless DC motors (BLDCM) driven by four sets of power circuits. The circuits are controlled by two sets of control units based on DSP, and the output torque of these two motors is integrated by gear reducer. According to this paper, the reliability weakness in the system is impaired under rational redundant structure, and the combination property of the system is optimized. The results indicate that the Quad-redundant EMA can be operated and complete its flight mission in higher reliability.
