Abstract :
The rapid development of computer technology brings new opportunities to our country´s English teaching which is advancing every day. As a very important part of English teaching, network college English teaching is also developing very quickly. However, it is still faced with the problem of how to transform from teacher-centered computer-assisted teaching model to student-centered computer-oriented model. As an emerging teaching method, to a very large degree, digital game-based teaching can meet the needs raised by computer-oriented teaching model to college English teaching system. Beginning with the characteristics of digital games and their role in Engish language teaching and learning, the article offers a comprehensive elaboration on the study and application of digital game-based language teaching. Based on some relevant theories and through the analysis of some examples, it tries to show the enlightenment and value of digital game-based teaching to network college English teaching innovation, in the hope of improving college English teaching efficiency with the application of this new teaching model.
