Abstract
Most of the leading companies of automobile and semiconductor today are collaborating to develop the FlexRay communication protocol for the future automotive applications. It is fundamental to evaluate the response time of the communication in order to optimize the communication system designed with the FlexRay protocol. This paper presents mathematical models for the response time of static segment frame base on TDMA and dynamic segment frame base on FTDMA. An application Layer of FlexRay protocol for Fuel Cell Bus is designed, and the simulation of communication system by CANoe.FlexRay validates the accuracy of the mathematical model. According to the schedule, transmission of static segment frame is accurate; According to the simulation results, mathematic expectation and standard deviation of response time of dynamic segment frame only correlates with the communication cycle.
