Abstract :
A dual electric machines hybrid electric bus is investigated in this paper. The mechanical clutch and the manual transmission fixed in a conventional bus are replaced by dual electric machines in the novel system, which work as an electromagnetic clutch and a continuously variable transmission simultaneously. The basic operation coordinated control for the system components is implemented to satisfy the driverpsilas power demand and ensure smooth power transfer. Moreover, the improved operation coordinated control is suggested to avoid engine rich fuel injection and improve fuel economy. Results show that the operation coordinated control can achieve prospective target.
