  • Abstract
    Reconstructing unknown dielectric objects by integral equation approach (IEA) requires to alternatively solve the forward scattering integral equation (FSIE) and the inverse scattering integral equation (ISIE) in the frame of Born iterative method (BIM) or its variations. Though the FSIE can be conveniently solved with regular numerical methods, solving the ISIE could be challenging because of its inherent features, especially when the diverse data are not available. In this letter, we consider an unfavorable measurement condition, i.e., the limited observation angles, and develop a Gauss-Newton minimization approach (GNMA) incorporated with a line search method (LSM) and multiplicative regularization method (MRM) to enhance the inversion quality of scattering data. Numerical examples for reconstructing two-dimensional (2-D) dielectric objects are presented to illustrate the inversion approach.
