Abstract
The idea of multi-carrier code-division multiple-access (CDMA) has recently received significant attention as an alternative to traditional single-carrier CDMA. In this paper multi-carrier CDMA is applied to a cellular overlay scenario which uses a fading channel model. It is shown that the diversity advantage realized with the use of multi-carrier CDMA allows the CDMA users to lower their transmitted powers, and the benefits to the narrowband system are substantial
