Abstract :
This paper surveys several linear and nonlinear multivariable feedback control methods for improving transient response in the tracking of a constant step reference. The recently introduced linear non-overshooting scheme by Schmid and Ntogramatzidis is shown to offer several performance advantages over other schemes from the literature.
