Abstract :
The turns of driving coil may affect the equivalent inductance of discharge circuit, as well as the waveform of discharge current. As speeding up of the armature in multi-stage coil launcher, the turns of driving coil should change accordingly in order to get optimal launching efficiency. It analyzed the relation of driving coil turns and launching efficiency based on the equation of force on the armature, and then the matching characteristics of the driving coil turns and the armature velocity by the numerical simulation. Some conclusions are obtained such as that there exists an optimal turn of driving coil for every armature velocity, and the number of turns should reduce as the increase of armature velocity.
