Abstract :
The authors describe and analyze AC/DC converter topology for use in a high-frequency space power distribution system. Steady-state analysis of the converter is provided, the performance characteristics are presented, and transient behavior is studied. The proposed converter has close-to-unity rated power factor (greater than 0.98), low total harmonic distortion in input current (less than 5%), and high conversion efficiency (greater than 96%). To verify the concept, a breadboard converter was built
