Abstract
In this paper, a simple compact design of a dual-polarized aperture-coupled patch antenna, suitable for GSM900 (890-960 MHz) base station antenna is presented. The proposed antenna has a stacked square radiating patch, which is only about 0.74 times that of the conventional design using simple stacked patch on the same substrate. The simulated results from IE3D simulation software shows that the bandwidth for return loss <-14 dB (SWR<1.5) covers whole GSM900 band and port decoupling is less than -30 dB. The element provides good polarization performance and good radiation. A peak antenna gain of about 8.71 dBi has been obtained.
