Abstract :
Two different methods to evaluate the induction machine parameters for the indirect vector control are proposed. The routines are carried out with an inverter-fed induction machine to estimate the magnetising inductance, M, and the rotor time constant, Tr, needed to tune the controllers. One of the methods utilises the slip equation of the field oriented induction machine to develop recursive estimators for the parameters. The other one uses the Kalman filter and the discrete model of the machine to obtain the required parameters. Both methods are based on the stator current error vector as a reference to the parameters´ level of uncertainty. Simulation results show the identification of these parameters by both methods for six different reference excitation levels. The effectiveness of the methods is discussed throughout the paper
