Abstract
A new resonant type boost rectifier is developed to achieve PWM operation by using a power switch including a resonant circuit which provides the ZVS function to all switches. With a single resonant circuit set in addition to the conventional 6-bridge converter to obtain PFC (power factor correction), high quality and efficiency input current waveforms, naturally at nearly unity power factor, can be obtained. Operation of the ZVS topology is analyzed in detail and design guidelines are also provided. Experimental results are given to confirm the validity of the proposed converter
