Abstract :
The exact bit error probability is obtained in terms of Marcum´s Q-function whose computation requires numerical integration. It is desirable to have a simpler result, such as a tight exponential upper bound, from which the behaviour of the BEP as a function of the various system parameters such as the propagation signal-to-noise ratio or K-factor can be deduced easily. An upper bound is obtained and found to be tight by comparison with the exact result
