Abstract :
Original 3D compensating structures are proposed for enhancing the operating bandwidth of 3D planar antennas. The basic radiating element is composed of a U-shaped resonator, and is inserted in a backed cavity, processed in foam materials supporting such feeding structure. The parasitic effects of the excitation probe can therefore be compensated without degrading radiating performances. Experiments are systematically proposed and discussed.
