Abstract :
This paper deals with a method of 1/f-noise and ripple induced phase instabilities suppression in microwave O-type electron devices. The method uses some results of a network sensitivity theory and features of original noise in O-type tubes. The theory is proved experimentally resulting in 27 dB reduction of a X-band klystron oscillator phase noise at 1 kHz offset frequency. The basic idea can be applied, in principle, to many other practical cases
