Abstract
In the traditional P parameters algorithm based on single channel, a certain carrier residual excursion must be retained. However, the residual excursion is not beneficial to the later recognition and demodulation process at a low-frequency stage. In order to overcome these shortcomings, an algorithm based on inphase and quadrature channels for USB (upper sideband modulation), LSB (lower sideband modulation) and DSB (double sideband modulation) recognition is presented. The new algorithm needn´t reserve a carrier residual excursion. So it avoids the disadvantages of the traditional algorithm. Computer simulations indicate that the algorithm based on inphase and quadrature channels can discraminate from USB, LSB and DSB signals effectively at SNR=0 dB.
