In this paper, inspection planning based on the risk in the bottom component of stabilizer tower operated in natural gas plant is analyzed using level I consequence analysis technique found in API 581 standard. Firstly, data required for identifying the hazards from operating this type of equipment are gathered and tabulated. Then, the probability of failure based on the types of corrosion damage mechanism for pressure vessels is studied. After that, the types of fluid and operating conditions are identified and evaluated in order to identify the consequences which may occur. Finally based on time and inspection effectiveness, risk estimation is carried out for optimizing inspection planning in-order to reduce risk level in case if it is not acceptable or to avoid conservativeness in inspection planning if the risk level is tolerable or broadly acceptable.
