Abstract
The source routing (DSR) protocol is a commonly applied protocol in ad hoc network. As the expansion of network, the efficiency of DSP protocol is on the decline due to the increasing network complexity and overhead. To enhance the performance of DSR, release network congestion, balance network energy and improve scalability, this paper has introduced modification to the outgoing package structure of RREP and RREQ. A new protocol IDSR has been introduced with new sending delay mechanism, and the performance of this refined IDSR routing protocol has been evaluated by simulation.
