Title :
Factors affecting the performance of Li/SOCl2/C-TAA cells
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Electroreduction of SOCl2 at a TAA-containing carbon-based cathode results in the formation of reaction products which may affect the electrode passivating layer. The effect of selected iminium salts as electrolytes in Li/SOCl2 cells was tested. Their use as sole electrolyte was shown to significantly reduce cell performance. Their use as electrolyte additives in Li/SOCl2/TAA-C cells was shown to be beneficial in certain cell designs, with their effect seemingly one of altering the characteristics of the passivation layer at the separator-cathode surface
