Abstract
A full 3D moment-method (MoM) analysis is discussed which has a far-field approximation technique (FFA) embedded within its formulation. The FFA significantly improves the computational efficiency of the MoM reducing core memory and CPU by over 90% and 80% respectively. The analysis is applied to axially symmetric and offset reflectors, which have overall diameters ranging between 10-20 wavelengths and may include struts. Radiation patterns and surface currents computed by the MoM with the FFA and the original MoM are demonstrated to be in good agreement.
