Abstract :
The images of objects embedded in dielectric medium can be reconstructed by using leaky waves of an open waveguide structure. If electromagnetic wave (mode) propagates in open waveguide and one is located near and parallel to flat surface of a dielectric, the part of energy of mode can follow from this waveguide under the dielectric surface into depth of the dielectric at some angle to the propagation direction. Influence of the surface reflection onto an image of the subsurface object is decreased in this case of interaction of the propagating mode of open waveguide with dielectric and the object is seen well. Open wire line in the form of the single wire with finite conductivity is studied in this paper with this aim
