Abstract :
In this paper the author shows steps to the history of the concept to represent fuzzy sets in the hypercube. The first consideration in this direction can be found in an article of Lotfi A. Zadeh in 1969 but there is an interesting historical pathway to two of Zadeh´s notes that he had published in 1958 and 1962. Later, in the 1980s, Bart Kosko introduced this concept effective into fuzzy set theory to give a new representation of fuzzy sets.
