  • Abstract
The pitch period detector based on the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is described. Making use of the speech signal DWT at scale 2/sup 4/,2/sub 5/, the pitch period can be estimated. The parameter {a/sub 1/,a/sub 2/} of four-tone recognition is obtained by the fundamental frequency curve fitting. The fuzzy C-means algorithm is applied to four-tone recognition. The four-tone clustering centers are obtained. The tone value can be determined by the maximum memberships.
