Abstract :
This paper revisits the coding theorems for the degraded broadcast channels from a viewpoint of the information spectrum approach devised by Han and Verdu (see IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory, vol.39, p.752-72, May 1993). We provide the capacity region for the general degraded broadcast channels, and clarify the problem of the joint general source-channel coding for the degraded broadcast channels
