Abstract :
The increased use of industrial PWM based ASDs are affecting the reliable performance of electrical distribution systems. This use has created many serious problems to distribution authorities. The high frequency leakage current causes nuisance tripping of protective equipment in electric utilities. This paper presents a practical approach of eliminating the leakage current and voltage stress problems associated (which causes the insulation failure) with PWM inverter-based ASD systems
