Abstract
The frequency characteristics of dielectric frequency selective surfaces are studied by the FDTD method. The periodic boundary condition is constructed with the Floquet theorem. Illuminating the structure with a combination of sine and cosine excitations at oblique incidence, the periodic boundary condition can be employed conveniently for the electric and magnetic fields. Thus, the calculation region can be restricted in a periodic structure. Valuable results, different from those in the literature, are obtained. The differences between them are discussed coarsely.
