Abstract :
One of the major issues of 3D generation for MEMS components today is access to 2D CAD geometry in an accurate and efficient manner. This paper provides some solution to the problems of the process of accessing 2D CAD geometry for 3D generation caused by differences in formats between 2D and 3D. This paper also give some comparisons in matter of time between the old algorithms used and the newly proposed algorithms. The problems that be addressed in this paper are detecting approximated curves from 2D geometry and converting them to true curves, and detecting shapes with holes and isolating the outer boundary from the inner holes to be accessed by the 3D generators
