Abstract :
The purpose of the present paper is to show through experiments of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) how the solid hydrogen (para-hydrogen) can open new perspectives on laser physics. We discuss the following two topics: one is the self-induced phase-matching in parametric anti-Stokes SRS in which the phase-matching is self-organized automatically without the stringent restriction of refractive-index dispersion of the medium, and the other is the control of the strongly-coupled Raman-coherence using two lasers.
