Recent advances in hard and soft magnetic melt spun alloys and some implications for electrical machines

With the quest for higher efficiencies and, in some cases, higher operating speeds in electrical machines, increasing demands are being placed on the performance of both soft and hard magnetic materials used in such machines. Thus the quest for new, improved materials continues unabated. The aim of this paper is to highlight these recent developments and to indicate some of the potential implications for electrical machines
